GEOLOGICAL DATA AND RESISTANCE TEST

Slate is a metamorphic rock, characterized by a finely-grained texture and the presence of cleavages along which it can be easily split into the thinner tiles, boasting natural clefting with an unique surface.
Slate contains minerals such as quartz, chlorite, mica and iron oxide.
Composition: SiO2 22-46%; Al2O3 2-18%; CaO 20-39%; FeO 1-10%
Specific weight: 2600-2900 Kg/m³
Compression test on both dry and wet slate samples have revealed a minimum resistance of 900 kg/cm².
The chill resistance is very high too.
